Boiler Air Impact Screening Tool

Welcome

BAIST provides a conservative screening framework to assess the impact of emissions from biomass boilers installed at licensed intensive agricultural facilities on air quality.

If the assessment is successful it indicates that the proposed biomass boiler(s) installed within the boundary of an EPA licensed intensive agricultural facility will not result in breaches of air quality regulatory limits beyond the boundary.

If the assessment is not successful it indicates that more detailed assessment is required (using site-specific dispersion modelling) to assess compliance with  air quality regulatory limits .

To begin the assessment process click the button below

To complete the assessment you will need to provide:

  • The EPA licence registration number for the intensive agricultural facility
  • The make and model of boiler that will be installed
  • Chimney stack parameters including:
    • Stack location
    • Internal stack diameter (at point of exhaust)
    • Stack height

If you don’t have all the information to hand, you can save a partial application and resume it later. Simply click the ‘Save’ button. You will be emailed a link that you can click to resume your application when ready.

When all answers are entered, the ‘Evaluate’ button will reveal the results of your application.
